Beautiful Day

Yes, soon the image to the left is what will await all who come. I just spent the morning powerwashing and scraping the porch. We look forward to the many of you who will enjoy this "simple country charm" just a few minutes walk from L.L. Bean and the many adventures that it offers. They just posted their Summer Concert Series so have a look see, and reserve your favorite performers dates now.

Updated digs in the "Barn".

We have been working on the barn to make it look inviting yet rustic. We even added a heater that works quite well too. Two weekends ago we had a Paulie Heath Girls Retreat use the meeting room and we were told it worked out well. Here is what it looks like. The area can be used for a lot of other activities as well, even weddings, music events or art shows(July 17-19). We can setup tables for working on your favorite projects like Scrapbooking, Quilting, Rug Hooking, Fly Tying etc. Loree wants to decorate the walls with some of her quilts to add color and charm.

Quiting Bee's

A quick programming note.

Quilting Class 101 April 24, 25 taught by Karen McPherson. The class will help beginners.

Quilting Class June 19, 20 taught by Leslie Muir-Volpe..."Ever gawk in amazement at the miniatures displayed in quilt shows and magazines? Ever wonder, "How do they do that?" In this class you'll learn the "Twenty Tips for Tiny Quilts." We'll cover all the techniques of traditional quilt making, but adapt them to working small. Emphasis is placed on fabric selection, cutting, sewing, and pressing carefully for precision piecing. Our project for the day will be a "Charming Little Churn Dash" quilt. This old-fashioned block adapts well to petite quilts, and with the addition of corner stones, sashing, and that perfect border fabric, these little churn dash blocks are indeed "charming."

Getting the look we want.

I see from looking around that blogging is time consuming, yes. As time goes along we will add more links of interest and ideas to share. We just drove by the "underconstruction" Freeport Village Station it is coming along for the May opening. The workers are trying.
